09 Aug Altitude Acquisitions Review the London Success Story
Entrepreneurs can become a business success wherever they’re based, particularly now that advances in technology and communications are making the globe smaller than ever. Nevertheless, being in a creative and successful city can greatly increase the chances of hitting the business big time. A study by the New World Wealth Consultancy found that London now has more millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the world. Here, Altitude Acquisitions review this study, and look at the advantages that London has to offer businesses.
“London has always been a city of opportunity, even during the years that were difficult for the economy”, said Jessie Hughes, director of Altitude Acquisitions. “It’s clear that London is now beginning to boom again. It’s a magical city to work in, and increasing numbers of people are finding that it’s an even better city to work and do business in.”
The study looked at major cities across the world, and found that for the first time London has overtaken Tokyo and New York to become the millionaire capital of the world. One in every 35 people in London has assets of more than $1 million (around £596,000). It still lags behind Hong Kong and NewYork when it comes to multi-millionaires, but London leads the way again when it comes to the world of the super rich and the billionaires. Britain is the country with more billionaires per head than anywhere else in the world, with 104 living there. London itself is home to 72 billionaires, accounting for nearly 10% of all billionaires in the world.
The study suggests that one of the reasons for London’s growing success is its reputation as an international city, and its position as the financial powerhouse of Europe. It is also the unchallenged centre of Britain as a whole, whereas other economic powers such as Germany have their wealth spread across several cities. Success attracts success, and that means London is in a perfect position to continue its growth and attract even more millionaires and billionaires.
“London is the perfect place to start and run a business”, said Jessie Hughes. “It’s an inspirational city, a place where you can rub shoulders with the rich and famous. The streets may not be paved with gold, but they’re certainly full of opportunity. With so many wealthy people living in London, there’s also a ready supply of investors as well as a large customer base to reach out to.”
